I'd like to use my machine for carving some wave patterns with dimension in the Z direction. I have drawn the shape in CAD, imported it into KCam, then altered the G code to make it cut in the YZ direction. I basically changed (X to Z), (I to J) & (J to K). It works fine but KCam seems tp have some trouble processing this. It sometimes shows the right,wrong or no tool path in the plot window with the same g code file. I know the g code is ok because it's really simple and works sometimes. Is this a video or memmory problem? The PC is brand new and fast with Win XP. Ultimately I need to make a few rows with different curve patterns. Mark  | ||

I worked on this today, and the plot window just doesn't update with the shape until I first import the dxf, then open the G code file I made...... I did a dry run and the machine makes the right movenents. Guess it's just a video mem. vertual memmory or some PC setting that's not right Below is the G code, it will be cut with a 1/4" ball cutter. making a wave pattern on an arc. I dont have the ini file with me now. Please let me know how it opens on your machine.
