When I jog or run any gcode, my motors make around 1 revelution, and then stop or pause for about a half sec, run around one revelution, stop or pause about a half a sec, etc. Any suggestion about setup problems or equipment issues? Anyone had the same problem? |

motors wired improperly. one or your coils is wired in reverse fighting the other coil in rotation causing it to stop, very common newby mistake.. |

what are the odds of wiring all three wrong? According to the data sheet for my motors, they are wired correctly. |

My guess would be your drive electronics are over heating. Is your power supply shutting down? Peter |

power supplies are operating fine. the motors run fine in Mach3, but I like the way kcam looks and is easy to setup (or seems like it is). I did double check my wire on the motors and did try experimenting with some different combinations but didn'd get and change. Thanks to everyone for all your help and responses. Kcam opens and loads the gcode just fine, and runs it it is just really jerky. I am running a Univelop controller, does anyone have any experience with these controllers? |

Have you played with the table set up? Changing feed speed inverting signals to work on falling edge set the application priority to highest setting? re-doing timing? If you have a scope to see if step signal is there ALSO the port display is handy if the pins aren't turning on and off it is your parallel port? |

Try swapping your step with the direction bit in the Port Setup window. Sometimes it will step a little when they are setup backwards. |

Thanks all for your help, it is greatly appreciated. I found that the decay settings on my driver boards were at 50%, I set them at 100 and all is well. I have never had to deal with these settings, so I learned something. 8) Thanks again Gary |
