Hi all.
I have spent countless hours trying to get Kcam to work with my computer. Everything works fine untill i choose to have 157 steps per mm and turn Ramping on, then i see little x's appear on the plot windows as it is cutting, this also causes my computer to beep everytime a x is generated. It seems as though it beeps more when it is doing arcs, by the time it has finished cutting i have hundreds of little x's over the plot window. If i choose above about 500 steps or turn ramping off everything is fine.
Im using a homemade stepper driver which works fine with TurboCNC. I have triend re-installing windows with Win98, WinMe, WinXP-SP1 and WinXP-SP2, Tried Updating Bios and 4 different versions of Kcam.

Whats happening?
Thanks all
Chris.

Chris,

Please try the new feature in KCam that creates a support file. This makes support testing much easier.

Load the G-Code file which gives an error. Click Help/About and click the Support File button. This will created a compressed file with your current G-Code in memory, your pc hardware info and your machine setup.

Please examine and post that file here so I can try to simulate the problem.

You can examine it with Windows Explorer under Windows XP. With other operating systems, use WinZip or similar programs to open it.

Kelly
