Hey gang, What do you want kits or assembled and tested MaxSteppers? Thanks... I should be getting the throttle version tomorrow so I can give it a test drive. |

I would normally be happy with a kit, but as I'm so far away ( Australia ), I would in this case go for a assembled and tested unit. I would also expect to see the board packed in a antistatic bag, and padded box for long distance travel, dropped on the post office floor sort of endurance. |

And I should add, supplying the assembled unit with a power supply wont be any good to over seas buyers and just adds dead weight. I guess by power supply Kelly means a plug pack to plug into the wall socket. So I would ask you to not send the power supply in my case, though I could use it as a paper weight, or maybe a counter weight for the door on the chicken house. |

I wonder if anyone will want a power supply? I hate to have some buyers not be able to power it up right away, or have to figure out what kind, where to get it and how to use it. I want to make a simple product without too much fuss for the end user. Any thoughts. |

I don't think a powersupply is usefull for people outside the US. For me, I should prefer a kit...warming up your soldering iron is always fun, isn't it? I am from Europe, (Holland) and I never had any problem with things send to me from the States, so for this part of the world I don't see any problem. Hans |

Hi Kelly, I have about 10 9v 200ma power supplies laying around so I do not think that is a problem. Try www.bis.doc.gov for export regulations. It is a department of commerce website. Most regulations involve Russia, China, Iran, Syria and the like. Henk Lokhorst |

The kit has the advantage of being quick, I alone would add him a base to the controller IC to avoid problems with the welding. |

Hello Kelly Greetings. Don't worry for power supply , since in the local market they are very easy to find, the increase of weight also rise the shippings. |

Speaking of Power Supplies, Stan had an idea that some people would want to use an existing 5 volt power source in their equipment. He suggested connecting 5 volts into the terminal strip and replaceing the 7805 regulator with a jumper from the in to out pins. This passes the 5volts at terminal to the chips on the pcb. |
